Short detour

July 28, 2017

San Ardo to Soledad

Woke up late.

So what.

Coffee and a slice of some blueberry muffin loaf.

Steve and I pretty much talked non stop for half hour or so.

Cool dude and very hospitable.

Wind was brutal today.

Had just crossed over where G14 crosses over Cattleman road at San Lucas.

Half way up a little incline when a pickup pulls up in front of me and stops.

Carl had seen me riding up the pass the previous day.

Talked on the side of the road for a bit.

At Greenfield all bokes have to exit the highway.

No problem.

They always have a short detour on a side road.

This one was not short.

About ten miles long.

For all the trouble it was worth I rode through some beautiful vineyards.

Some laden with fruit.

Others newly planted.

I stopped at Soledad.

Hips are hurting a bit.

Thirty more miles to Salinas.

Tomorrow.

With that I say goodnight.

May Christ's love fill you all!

D.
