Craters of the Moon

June 14 2017

Bob at MacKay Reservoir

Homeless.

Then a scientist.

Next a Physical Therapist.

Working on MDiv and Bus. Admin

Starting a non-profit for helping the homeless

From Maryland

Coleen his wife living on one lung

Pushed up into chest cavity so cannot expand and contract

Phranetic blood flow

left around 11.30
We got talking and Kurt Vonnegut came up.

his quote about love on the bathroom stall.

His last book.

What is the meaning of life.

Love.

True, but it is more than that.

The love of Christ in us compels us to love as He loved.

Seems to be a universalist/existentialist

Met Fred Fisher at the scenic overlook just before the campsite.

He is from Haydn ID

Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve.

$15

First come, first serve.

Nice campsite.

Nice neighbours.

Look at visitors center tomorrow.

Heard that Idaho is trying to make it a National.

Still a hundred miles to Twin Falls.
Actually, it was only eighty-seven.

Two days, maybe three, if the wind keeps up.

Ruddy was the word someone used to describe me today.

I like it.

Sandwich at a sub shop in Arco.
Tasted so good.
Two glasses of lemonade.

When got to the top felt wonderful to finish that climb.

Yelled and whooped.

Thirty miles from where I camped north of MacKay to Arco

Twenty-five to the campground tonight.

Thanks to Fred Fisher for telling me about this place.

So what strikes me from today.

People can come back from all manner of adversity.

Whether from their own choices or from an unknown circumstance.

God can, and will, allow us the joy of being part of His plan in this world.

We have to give up trying to figure it out ourselves.

We need to let go and let the Lord, the Holy Spirit, work in His way.

Remember, what God created in us, will not be wasted.

Trust in the Lord God.

Let Him do what He needs.

You'll be all the better for it.

Shalom,

D.
