Day 8
June 3 2017
5 am up and going.
4 pm Lolo Pass
Gave a number of cards out at the rest area/visitor center as I came into Montana.
Lolo Hot Springs
When I got off the recumbent at my tent site I was like a drunk man.
Could hardly walk.
Or set the tent up!
Went across the road and had a taco salad.
Quite delicious.
The meal really helped.
I am thinking of staying here another day for some extra rest.
And to use the hot springs.
Yesterdays pedalling was fifty-five miles according to the mile posts on the side of the road.
Todays was fifty-six or so.
Fifty-aix miles.
A long climb up the pass.
Twenty miles of uphill!
The last six or seven miles up the pass I thought for sure I was going to puke.
Every crank of the pedals.
Or die.
Maybe both at the same time.
The last two days were all pedalled on several power bars and lots of water.
Not high on my list of recommendations for anyone to do!
Why no food you may ask?
I was able to pay for my room after coming through the rain/lightning/thunder storm.
A very interesting thirty-some mile ride!
The lady gave me a huge discount!
I could have kept pedalling.
Shortly after I checked in the skies cleared up and the sun came out.
Oh well.
So I thought to myself, finances have come in.
Walked to the store a few blocks away to get some eats for the next couple days.
Would not accept the card.
The next morning I had some breakfast and set off pedalling down the road.
With my four water bottles filled and the granola bars I had packed in the top pocket of the pannier.
One hundred miles later I am here in Montana!
Praise God!
Tomorrow is an off day.
A zero day.
No riding day.
Thanks to all for following along on this ride for missions.
