I pedalled over Lost Trail Pass!
7014 feet in elevation.
I am relieved today is done.
Last night, sleeping at the fairgrounds at Hamilton was comfortable and cozy.
It had fresh sawdust on the ground in the small covered staging area.
Was able to air and dry out both the tent and the rainfly.
Didn't leave my sleeping site till half past eight.
Casually made my way to Safeway where I bought some bananas, granola/trail mix, some little packets of tuna, and some fritos.
The bananas are all ate up already.
There were only four.
After, I went across the street to the bike store.
Valley Bike and Ski in Hamilton MT is a great spot.
Got a spare tire and two extra tubes.
After talking for a bit, which is a necessity, I started pedalling south on 93.
Saw two pedaling east to west.
They were going downhill while I was going uphill.
A wave of the hand was all that was needed.
From then on it was just pedal time.
The pass itself was not too tough.
And I had plenty of time.
Forty-eight miles from Hamilton to Lost Trail Pass.
miles to camping.
Was down to about a half water container left when I reached the rest area.
All are filled full now!
I did meet a Sam and Pete at the rest area.
They were driving a Mustang they had bought out here back to Philadelphia.
Was great to chat with them for a few minutes.
So exciting to be on the downhill of the pass.
I will make sure of the mileage in the morning.
Believe it to be around forty miles to Salmon Idaho.
Shalom!

Hey David, Its Pete of Sam and Pete. Hope you are safe and well! It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you at Lost Trail Pass. We made it back to Philadelphia with no trouble..... a lot easier in a car than by bike! Safe travels my friend!
